The Sky above belongs to God, and down below gathering strength from the Earth is the black man and, between him and God stands the white man. To reach out to go beyond the white man to get to God himself. To get the white man to one side and go straight to God is our problem. In this African Senegalese proverb you see everything of African predicament and his aspirations...Africa belongs to Africans. The World belongs to humanity, Africans own Africa, and to improve Africa in a world context they need the world to help them. I believe Africa is large enough to accommodate a number of people, provided the spirit is Right, provided they come in as partners in progress, provided one knows here that the Africa is the host and visitor is the guest.
From the moment of independence, all forms of corruption in public life found a good thriving ground in Nigeria, as also the different forms of injustices, oppression, discrimination, rivalry, suspicion, and hate.
